WOW A"PAIR" OF Antique Silver Plated possibly Quadruple plate "SPOONERS " serving Bowls With Spoon Holders & Bird Fennials. With the makers mark of W.R.which is 1881 William Rogers Mark. What a wonderful find.I have had these wonderful pieces sitting on my two matching sideboards in my Dinning room. I have received so many compliments on them having twin sideboards with twin dishes. They are beautiful, rare,etched with a wonderful blue bird of happiness fennial on the top of their lids. They have 12 spoon holder arms encircling each piece.Many uses,some say its for sugar,or bon bons,and nuts. Which nuts would be the first guess as there are little squirrel figurenes in the handle. And a circle of spoons for dishing out nuts makes the most sense. It's actually listed in the silver plate ID books as a shrimp and Caviar serving dish. The spoons were for quests to use to scoop up the food and keep on their plates to eat it with. They both have an assortment of spoons. Thus why they were sometimes called SPOONERS. These  pieces were not originally with these servers, so they are not matching, just assorted. Both have etched designs on the sides. Both have plate loss and do need to be cleaned and polished. One has a bit of bumpy area around one etched area.SEE PICS. What a statement they make by having one for each end of your elegant Victorian table setting.
