How old they are? I need to tell you a story.

After finished college MIIT me and my wife Lucy
got referral to work in Lisakovka, North Kazakhstan Republic for construction of bridges for new railroad Kustanay-Tobol. Lisakovka is a tiny village in the steppe without beginning and end. Railroad train Moscow-Karaganda makes 3 minutes stop once a day. Lucy became pregnant and decided to go to her village Osinovic, Novgorod District, where her mother lives. At that time Osinovic had 5 or 6 houses, and no electricity. My son was born in June 1959. I asked for vacation and went to Osinovic. From train Moscow-Leningrad I get off at 2 AM on Lychkovo station. 6 AM took bus to Demyansk (2 hours trip). Bus Demyansk to Marevo (1.5 h trip). Marevo to Velily  20 km, No regular transportation, If you lucky you have a chance to catch passing car. From Velily to Osinovic 3 km. No chance to get a ride. Finally, I met my one-week-old son. On the attic at our house I found these 2 items.
Spindle, obviously made in Russia and was heavily used. Flute – not Russian, maybe made in Japan or China. How had it got to Osinovic? My guess during war 1941, 1942, Osinovic was under German occupation. They seldom visit Osinovic, because it is too remote. Lucy (8 y old) remembers one soldier gave her a candy. Remember as the soldier try to pull “valenki” – felt boots, from the old man. He prevented to take valenki off. His wife lashed out at her husband: “Old f

l. Give him valenki, he will shoot you” There were partisans around, but they were warned: “If there will be any single assault, we will burn village to the ground” Probably for one visit German soldier left flute there.
Now you can guess how old spindle or flute.
