Description
This simple little hard-shell helmet is a far cry from the sophisticated (and much safer!) modern-day head gear equestrians now use, but helmets did not truly become en vogue until the 1950s with the inspiration ofJackie Kennedy who made the jumping world so chic. The chinstrap that kept this helmet in place is long gone, but the retro vibe is there with yester-year appeal. Great for office or home décor, or simply for the collector. Inside label is Val-A but that was most-likely a model number and there are no manufacturer’s marks to be found. Black cotton velvet on a thin, hard shell with little inside padding. Marked size 6 ½. C 1960s, measures 8 inches long x 6 ½ inches wide, 2 inch front brim, 21 ½ inches inside circumference, 6 ½ inches tall.
