Scarce 1860s Aesthetic Double Handle Egyptian Lion Head Silver Plate Chalice Cup

Offered Here is a very unique antique circa 1860s estate silverplate double handle cup or chalice. The ornate handles of this cup are decorated with a very detailed figural Egyptian Lion head motif that holds a bar in his mouth that serves as part of the handle and gives you a place to rest your thumbs on the back of the head while drinking. It is very well balanced and comfortable to use. This cup dates to the late 1860s and is in excellent condition with no notable flaws.
Truly a phenomenal antique silverplate chalice or cup. My photos in no way do this cup justice.
It is marked on the bottom for Rogers Smith & Co. New Haven, Conn with a pattern mark #22. This company was organized in 1857 and the mark indicates this cup was made between 1862-1877.
This cup stands 4" in height and spans 7" handle to handle. The diameter of the cup is 4"
