Ornate Silverplate Double Salt Cellar w Glass Bowl Inserts and 2 Spoons

Description

Very lovely large ornate silverplate double salt cellar with cut glass bowls and silverplate spoons. Excellent condition with some tarnish and wearing of silverplate consistent with age and use.  On the bottom of one of the bowls there is a makers mark.  It says "V" then a sailing ship then "S", a stamped symbol above that and below the number 773. I searched for a company, either silver, silverplate or pewter that has this as it's hallmark but couldn't find it.  So not sure of the company but it is a lovely piece of work, in very good shape.  The spoons are not silver as neither have any sterling name or mark so am assuming they are silverplate also.  They are of different design as well so were probably put with this cellar after purchase.  Both are attractive and substantial in weight and are shiny with only a couple small marks on one of them in the bowl.
