    Description

You are bidding on a very rare original antique engraving from an 1870s French illustrated journal.
It depicts a small black Manchester Terrier dogs with cropped ears at the Exposition Internationale de Chiens. He is in a ring demonstrating his prowess at rat killing. Packed house. Looks like there may be some betting going on! At the time, this breed was very popular as a ratting (rat hunting) dog.
The caption reads:  Le ring de l'Exposition canine internationale de 1870
which roughly translates to:  The ring of the International Canine Exposition in 1870
It is very large (folio size), measuring approximately 10.5 x 14.5 inches (26.5 x 36.5 cm). The picture area is about
8.5 x 5.5 inches (21.5 x 14 cm), with a French caption below and text above it. The text could easily be trimmed before framing, or hidden under a window mat.
The page is in excellent condition for its age.
There is text/photos on the back of the print.
See scan for an accurate view of the condition.
This is GENUINE antique/vintage item. It is not a modern reproduction.
