and remove all doubts as to the accuracy of ye olde dial thermometer.  Your analog dial thermometer is hard to read accurately and there is always guesswork on reading the mercury.  The Analog thermometer currently on your brew kettle or whiskey still is only + or - 2 degrees accurate and hard to read exactly.  You can 'still' use it but wouldn't it be nice to know which side of the mark that two degrees is?  This highly accurate thermometer from AllA in France will do the trick!  Comes with a loop on top so that you can attach a cord.

pecifications: Range: -58 + 392° F, Resolution: 0.1°, Accuracy: +/- 2°F (-4+302°F) Max/Min Function Stainless Steel piercing probe.  Overall length is 8", and the probe itself is 4.5".  Note the extra high and low range.  The thermometer accuracy drops to +/- 2°F at 4 below and at 302°F.  Inside the home brewing and distilling range this instrument will be dead on.  Actually a Made in France French precision cooking thermometer!  You could try getting it for your wife as a present but not recommended...

his is a brand name Made in France AllA thermometer. This is the same company that makes our hydrometers and some of our dial thermometers.  AllA mantains Traceable Calibration Certificates on their instruments.  Accurate and the scabbard and battery are included!
INSRUCTIONS:
Turn it on and off with the front button closest to the probe.  It will come up in Centigrade mode the first time.  Switch to Fahrenheit with the button on the back (shown below in blue) and turn it off.  From this point on it will come up in F unless you switch it back to C.  I can't tell you how long the battery lasts I have never replaced mine.  Turns itself off after 45 minutes...
