Exceptional Christofle or Armand Frenais Egyptian revival silver plate tripod Covered Dish Bowl ,ca 1895 Paris unmarked . Lovely covered dish may be for caviar , beautiful design of horned hounds or dragons , top cover has almost a deco feel to it , with a winged sphinx , just incredible, piece is unmarked , the wings on the sphinx and dragons are exactly like a piece done by Armand Frenais , who was a top rival to Christofle , the quality of this work of art is exceptional! This may have been a special order it is that quality ! The piece measures 6"1/2 tall and 6" wide , piece is in fantastic shape for age , one tiny dimple in bowl , would say piece is mint ! looks almost new but is over 130 years old , if you have any questions please feel free to contact me, it really should be in a museum or fine collection of French silver , thanks and good luck !
