Exquisite Antique Victorian Tantalus Stand
This ornate triple well decanter stand with an elaborate tall center handle features a pierced frame with three feet that are decorated with a figural head. There is also a cartouche with a crest and monogram.
The frame and handle are attached with a nut on the bottom and the overall height is 17". Note for shipping purposes, we will disassemble the handle from the frame. The bottle wells are about 3-1/2" in diameter.
Charles Hawksworth and John Eyre founded Hawksworth, Eyre & Co. in 1833 in Sheffield, England. Basis the hallmark on this piece which was registered in London in 1866 and in Sheffield in 1867, this stand was likely made between 1866-1869. It is in amazingly good antique condition and has a wonderful patina so we will leave it up to the winning bidder's discretion to polish it.
