    Description

Antique SILVERPLATE REPOUSSE TEAKETTLE & Stand by International Silver Co.
The International Silver Company (1898-1983) was formed by various independent New England silversmiths that joined themselves together to form a company that became the world's largest manufacturer of silverware.
This is a charming silver plated Tea Kettle and a Stand by The International Silver Company.
The set comprises the kettle with beautiful floral Repousse decoration and hand chased design with a hinged lid and black bakelite handles, and the stand, which has four legs ending with hooves.
This set comes from the late 19- early 20 century.
In those days such sets were used to keep extra hot water warm to top-up the tea pot.
The spirit burner which would have been used for fire is missing.
It looks like this set has never been used functionally, just for the decorative purposes.
That explains why it does not have the burner and it explains the “mint” condition of the interior of the kettle.
Bakelite handles in good shape only one has small repair. Silver-plate in good condition with little wear.
    Weight- 3lb
Measures: 13.5” tall with handle up 10.5” with handle down, 13” across.
