    Description

This neat old sideboard for a doll or child's playhouse or for a doll collection display is in great shape for its age. I have always regarded it as a "dining room sideboard" rather than as what is most often seen, a bedroom dresser in salesman-sample size. Turned mini-pillars on the top unit, and three old beveled mirrors inset. The base section has seven drawers and is 18" wide, 7 and 5/8" deep, and 12.5" tall. The triple-mirrored top section measures 17.5" wide and when the two units are screwed together (with two very old flathead screws) they reach 23.5" overall height. How about an antique sideboard on your antique sideboard, vintage dolls rocking nearby? Many ways to enjoy!
    Photos:
#1 - Piece photographed late afternoon with some daylight and lamplight combined. The top cream colored drawer knobs are celluloid, and the center drawer is missing its knob. The 6 bottom drawers have small round wooden knobs, probably the originals, one of which I have in a little bag --- it needs to be sanded lightly and glued or shimmed back into its hole. Replace nine all with new antique tiny knobs if you like!
#2 - Piece photographed in daylight. Please note I have not cleaned or re-stained the piece and leave the choices to you. I have always enjoyed it as is.
#3 - Back of both units.
#4 - Piece with white backdrop for clarity. The center mirror in top section is 6.5" tall.
This is the first time I've taken this piece apart in all the years I've owned it -- and I only separated them now for packaging and shipping purposes. Simply reattach the pieces through the wooden flap in the back, without tightening the screws too much at first. if I were keeping this piece, I would predrill a hole for one more small screw in the center flap.
#5 - Base unit alone, showing paler marks where the top unit sits. These could be made to disappear with a touch of wood conditioner or stain.
    #6 - Bottom unit alone.
#7 - Base unit showing bun feet.
    #8 - Altogether again.
